Editorial: "City Council advances immigration law plans"

The unnamed Courier editor damns the City with faint praise for not doing enough to sweep those untidy brown people off our streets. Presumably the editor has a proposal for how the City should go about it, one that takes into account that the City has no legal authority over immigration violations. I'd love to see that proposal, but so far all I've read is hectoring complaints and political posturing.

Well steve they're gonna get themselves some of that yummy leagal authority checkthisout from yesterdays piece
"Council supports beefing up local immigration enforcement"
"City Attorney Gary Kidd presented "the council with a draft letter that seeks an agreement with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Washington, D.C., "for the purposes of allowing patrol officers to engage in task force activities and which authorizes these local law enforcement officers to perform certain delineated immigration enforcement functions"
There it is the legal authority is in the works.
