Today the unnamed Courier editor earns his second Barcalounger since the departure of Ben Hansen for a shameless puff piece for Prescott Valley in the editorial space, involving neither analysis, editorial opinion nor even a public issue. Waste of space.

A local newspaper is important to holding a community together, so it carries the responsibility of making good choices for the community. I'm an optimist, and I figure that if we become more critical readers and hold the editors accountable for what they're doing, including when they're doing right, we can gradually help make it better.

I felt the bile rise in my throat after reading the first paragraph . "Progressive?" PV is a progressive community ? Another gagging reaction hit after reading of the various cowpie music to be performed followed by "patriotic fireworks" (whatever that is) on Valentine's Day! Huh ?
