What a steaming pile of pointless self-indulgence! I am completely mystified as to why this drivel gets space in the paper at all, leave alone on the op-ed page.

A local newspaper is important to holding a community together, so it carries the responsibility of making good choices for the community. I'm an optimist, and I figure that if we become more critical readers and hold the editors accountable for what they're doing, including when they're doing right, we can gradually help make it better.

Maybe he's trying to become the Studs Terkel of "The Big Apple".
The 'think tank' obviously needed some 'filler' and this fellow simply stepped forward with his nostalgic drivel.
Dude has a long road if he wants to be Studs, who actually talked to people.
