This delightful circle was taken at Lamington national park, west of the Gold Coast. These are native Australian mountain parots, the red and blue kind are crimson rosellas and the red and green are King Parots. They are feasting on sunflower seed which I had left for them, but I did not expect them to form such a perfect ring. This guy on the bottom is about to jump into the centre, to the discontent of the other birds.
A local newspaper is important to holding a community together, so it carries the responsibility of making good choices for the community. I'm an optimist, and I figure that if we become more critical readers and hold the editors accountable for what they're doing, including when they're doing right, we can gradually help make it better.
