Editorial: 'No' and 'lie'? Try 'get back to work'

The unnamed Courier editor comes out in favor of clean energy, investment in mass transportation, respectful dialogue and the President's plan in general. Among his usual cheering squad, heads will explode.

aren't cookies handed out for this sort of thing? i guess bucking the trend doesn't count as good journalism ...

Bucking a habit is fine in terms of recovery, but it doesn't necessarily get you over the zero line. Like a gold star for just showing up, praise for behavior that we should expect as normal sets the bar too low. Let's see whether the editor can keep it up, or this is just a fluke of too much Prozac.
