A local newspaper is important to holding a community together, so it carries the responsibility of making good choices for the community. I'm an optimist, and I figure that if we become more critical readers and hold the editors accountable for what they're doing, including when they're doing right, we can gradually help make it better.

Steve: Wonder if her "hunting priveleges" and Second Amendment rights being restored had anything to do with this editorial? I'm telling you: The Daily Courier Op/Ed Page, brought to you by the NRA. This is crap. With everything going on, we read about an ex-junkie who can now own a gun and vote? Good for her, but that impacts me not one freaking bit. This is pathetic, jared
