Radio news

As of yesterday morning KJZA/KJZP is running on 90.1 in Prescott in partnership with KAWC in Yuma. Hope you like it!

  1. I was looking for "Wait Wait Don't Tell Me" on 90.1 on saturday and it was music. Where was my NPR programming?

  2. KJZZ has abandoned northern Arizona in favor of KNAU, which continues with the NPR news/talk format, including Wait Wait at 11am Saturdays, on 89.3.

  3. Will 89.3 be getting better reception anytime soon? All the sudden it has horrible interference of some kind. I dig the music, but I always have to miss news in the morning & try to listen in later but it's impossible.

  4. Mia: 89.3 is KNAU, we're on 89.5. Sometimes these frequencies interfere with one another, but what you're probably hearing right now is icing on the transmission antenna. It's a frequent problem in winter for those of us who can't afford de-icing equipment.

I encourage you to share your own views and experience with me and other readers. How you do that matters, and I'm committed to maintaining a place where readers and commenters can feel safe from adolescent BS. So here's the deal:

There are two kinds of anonymous comments: those by people who have a genuine fear of revenge from the dark side, and those from darksiders just hiding to avoid accountability. You may post comments anonymously, but I reserve the right to treat anonymous comments as found items that belong to me and do with them as I see fit.

If, on the other hand, you're willing to stand by your convictions and post under your own name or a regular handle, your comments belong to you, and I'll edit them only on egregious violations of respect for others.

If this doesn't work for you, I'm sure you'll be happier somewhere else.
