I encourage you to share your own views and experience with me and other readers. How you do that matters, and I'm committed to maintaining a place where readers and commenters can feel safe from adolescent BS. So here's the deal:
There are two kinds of anonymous comments: those by people who have a genuine fear of revenge from the dark side, and those from darksiders just hiding to avoid accountability. You may post comments anonymously, but I reserve the right to treat anonymous comments as found items that belong to me and do with them as I see fit.
If, on the other hand, you're willing to stand by your convictions and post under your own name or a regular handle, your comments belong to you, and I'll edit them only on egregious violations of respect for others.
If this doesn't work for you, I'm sure you'll be happier somewhere else.
WTF ?
ReplyDeleteis she serious ?
Yeah the country is going to Hell in a handbasket because the voters in their wisdom handed the helm over to people who wrap themselves in the flag and write long rambling self serving letters to the editor. when Just below, well actually below some guy from venice CA who apparently deeply cares about the Immigrant situation in AZ(???????????Man what kind of circulation you got John?)The yavapai county supervisor for district one makes an important point about how its local Govt. thats mismanaging the whole Developers and water thing
..maybe we could get her to care about that intead of trying to sell the same ol cultural crossroads crap that was old and tired the first time I heard it in the late 70's
"Morality is crumbling in favor of tolerance."
ReplyDeleteUm . . .tolerance is a moral virtue. My great-great grandfather came over here from Ireland because there was a shortage of it. See, if he'd gone East, instead of West to America, (looking, as he was, for a chance to take a break from starving) he would ahve gone to England, as many other Irish did at the time.
In England, he would have been called a dirty, low wage stealing, illiterate, can't take the time to quickly learn English, illegal immigrant.
He went into the West instead. Where he was also considered a dirty, low wage stealing, illiterate, can't take the time to quickly learn English, illegal immigrant. But, after serving in a war, working his ass off, making babies and dying, he is an honored American forefather.
Isn't it ironic, don't you think, John Sheehy?
maybe Ms. Jenks would care to comment on this fine example of Judeo christian morality
ReplyDeleteand why its better than tolerance.

I'd love it if the letter writers we're atlking about were reading this blog, but I think it's relatively unlikely. Have you guys posted these comments to the Courier Website?
